The American Cancer Society is the largest voluntary health organization in the nation, dedicated to eliminating cancer as a major health problem by preventing cancer, saving lives and diminishing suffering from cancer. Established in 1913, the Society is the only non-profit organization fighting cancer on all fronts. It is the nation’s largest private, non-profit source of cancer research funds and has contributed nearly $4 billion to cancer research.
